I used CFW to rip all my UMDs to digital files so I didn't have to worry about load times. It's severally cut down elsewhere (no wifi and crap mono speaker for instance), but I use headphones so it wasn't an issue for me, so the superior screen is of more benefit, YMMV. I like the E1000 as of the models that have UMD, it has the best screen overall imo (I had a PSP3K first which I liked even with the interlacing issues, but had to replace eventually after it started getting lines on the screen)
